You’ve arrived in front of an exceptional set of two large showcases.

Here, you’re traveling back in time! We offer you a glimpse of our territory 80 million years ago.

The showcase on the left displays a collection of fossils found in our basin or directly in the mines. They are evidence of the animals and vegetation that existed there in the past. Thanks to them, we can imagine the lake represented in the large showcase on the right.

Behind you, on the central wall, you’ll also find information about the shape and extent of our basin, as well as the locations of the main coal extraction shafts, the rock composition of our subsoil, and the coal layers that were exploited.
